MARINA ON LINE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM FOR SEAMAN’S BOOK AND STCW CERTIFICATES UP NEXT


The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) will soon launch its on-line appointment system for Seaman’s Book or Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB) and STCW Certificate of Proficiency (COP) / Certificate of Competency (COC) through the SEAMANJOBSITE.COM.

At the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last 15 August 2014 at the MARINA Board Room, MARINA Administrator Maximo Q Mejia, Jr. conveyed his gratitude to Quantum X, Inc., the site owner of SEAMANJOBSITE.COM which was represented by Mr. Robert John Oh, Managing Director, for offering its services in assisting the Agency with the technology in the implementation of an online appointment system to help ease the queuing of applicants for the issuance the above-mentioned document/ certificates.

Mr. John Oh expressed in return, his appreciation for the opportunity of giving back to the country in whatever capacity that Quantum X, Inc. may assist. And looking at the need of MARINA to address its queuing issues, he said that no better service it could offer than the on-line appointment system.

The Agreement states, among others, that the seamanjobsite.com will develop, host and provide technical maintenance to MARINA’s Online Appointment System website at no cost to the latter. Meanwhile, the MARINA shall manage and update the Admin section of the website and provide its contents, such as the forms, terms and conditions for the use of the website.

Witnesses to the signing of the MOA are: MARINA Deputy Executive Director for STCW Office, Atty. Jabeth Sena Jepath A. Dacanay and Quantum X, Inc. Sales and Marketing Manager Ms. Rhea Suiza.
