MARINA PILOT TESTS ONLINE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM ON
OCTOBER 01, 2014

Following its launch today, the Online Appointment System (OLAS) of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) on the application for Seafarers Identification and Record Book (SIRB), otherwise known as “seaman’s book” and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) shall be pilot tested at the MARINA Central Office starting 01 October 2014.

“OLAS features priority queuing and hassle-free, user-friendly ready-to-print forms for the convenience and flexibility of our seafarers”, said MARINA Administrator Maximo Q Mejia Jr. “Our seafarers are definitely internet savvy as they are exposed with modern ships with high-end, navigational and engineering systems. I could see that they will gladly welcome this reform.” Mejia added.

Setting an appointment takes only few steps as follows:

1. Go to www.marinaappointment.com
2. Select the document to be processed. (Eg. SIRB or STCW)
3. Pick the date and time most convenient and then click on “Next”
4. Fill out the form, print and present it at the MARINA OLAS Verification Desk
