The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Department of Transportation & Communications invites applicants with the following minimum qualification/competency requirements for the positions of:


Maritime Education & Training Standards Supervisor (METSS)

Qualifications:

  1. BSc Marine Transportation/Engineering
  2. Completed the Management Level Course (MLC) for Deck Officer
  3. At least three (3) years as a Merchant Marine Officer
  4. Certificate of Competency (COC) Under RA 8544

Board of Marine Deck Officers (BOMDO)

Qualifiications:

  1. Registered Masters with at least one (1) year command of seagoing of 3,000 tons or more within the last five (5) years;
  2. Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.

 

Preferably with the following additional qualifications:

  1. Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
  2. Certificated on Tankers;
  3. Prior experience as Educator/trainer in a Maritime Higher Education Institution (MHEI) or Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for at least two (2) years on STCW-related course; and
  4. Prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators.

Board of Marine Engine Officers (BOMEO)

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Chief Engineer Officer with at least one (1) year service as Chief Engineer Officer of seagoing ship powered by main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kilowatts or more within the last five (5) years;
  2. Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.

 

Preferably with the following additional qualifications:

  1. Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
  2. Certificated as Tankers;
  3. Prior experience as Educator/Trainer in a Maritime Higher Education Institution (MHEI) or Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for at least two (2) years on STCW-related course; and
  4. Prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators;
  5. Onboard experience with ship propulsion system other than marine diesel engine.

Board of Deck Ratings (BODRA)

Qualifications:

  1. At least five (5) years of sea-going experience on ships 500 gross tons or more and at least one (1) year as Able Seafarer Deck (or equivalent);
  2. Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.

 

Preferably with the following additional qualifications:

  1. Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
  2. Certificated on Tankers;
  3. Able Seafarer Deck (or equivalent) on his/her last assignment; and
  4. Prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators;
  5. Prior experience as Educator/Trainer in a Maritime Higher Education Institution (MHEI) or Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for at least two (2) years on STCW-related course.

Board of Engine Ratings (BOERA)

Qualifications:

  1. At least five (5) years of sea-going experience on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 750 kilowatts or more and at least one (1) year as Able Seafarer Engine (or equivalent);
  2. Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.

 

Preferably with the following additional qualifications:

  1. Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
  2. Certificated on Tankers;
  3. Serve as Able Seafarer Deck (or equivalent) on his/her last assignment;
  4. Serve as Electro-technical Rating (or equivalent) on board ship;
  5. Prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators; and
  6. Prior experience as Educator/Trainer in a Maritime Higher Education Institution (MHEI) or Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for at least two (2) years on STCW-related course.

Examiners of Ancillary Proficiencies (EAP)

Qualifications:

  1. Registered Officer in the deck and engine department, with at least five (5) years of sea-going experience on ships of 500 gross tons or more or powered by main propulsion machinery of 750 kilowatts or more;
  2. Not more than fifty (50) years old;
  3. Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism;

 

Preferably with the following additional qualifications:

  1. Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
  2. Certificated and had served in the management level on an oil tanker;
  3. Certificated and had served in the management level on a chemical tanker;
  4. Certificated and had served in the management level on a gas tanker;
  5. Served as a Deck Officer on a passenger ship;
  6. Served as a GMDSS Radio Operator on board ship in the last five (5) years;
  7. Served as the Ship Security Officer on board ship in the last five (5) years;
  8. Served as an Electro-technical Officer (ETO) or its equivalent in the last five (5) years; and
  9. Prior experience as Educator/Trainer in an Maritime of Higher Education Institution (MHEI) or Maritime Training Institution (MTI) for at least one (1) year on STCW-related course(s).

Documentary Requirements
  1. Personal Data Sheet/Curriculum Vitae with one 2×2 colored picture
  2. Service Record
  3. Certificates of Trainings
  4. Certificate of Competency/ Certificate of Proficiency

 

Job Order Personnel for Legal Division (3)

Education:

Bachelor of Laws Graduate

 

Skills:

  • Computer Literate
  • Must be highly proficient in English
  • Highly resourceful, analytical, results-oriented, organized and trainable;
  • Must be keen on details, and; Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision

 

Documentary Requirements:

  1. Certified True Copy of Original Transcript of Records (TOR) and Diploma
  2. NBI/Police Clearance/Brgy. Clearance
  3. Tax Identification Number (TIN)
