The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), invites applicants with the following minimum qualification/competency requirements for the positions of:


BOARD OF ENGINE RATINGS (BOERA) - (SG-24)

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: BSMarE, BSECE, BSEE
ELIGIBILITY: Certificate of Competency (COC) under RA 8544; Registered Engineer
EXPERIENCE: 1)  With at least five (5) years of sea-going experience on ship powered by  main propulsion machinery of 750 kilowatts or more and at least one (1) year as Able Seafarer Engine (or equivalent);
2)  Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
3)  Certificated on tankers;
4)  Served as Able Seafarer Engine (or equivalent) on their last assignment and serves as Electro-technical Rating (or equivalent) on board ship;
5)  Shall have prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators;
6)  Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.
TRAINING: IMO Model Course 6.09, 3.12 and 6.10, ETO

BOARD OF DECK RATINGS (BODRA) - (SG-24)

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: BSc Marine Transportation
ELIGIBILITY: Certificate of Competency (COC) under RA 8544
EXPERIENCE: 1)  With at least five (5) years of sea-going experience on ship of 500 gross tons or more and at least one (1) year as Able Seafarer Deck (or equivalent);
2)  Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
3)  Certificated on tankers;
4)  Shall have prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators;
5)  Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.
TRAINING: IMO Model Course 6.09, 3.12 and 6.10

BOARD OF MARINE DECK OFFICER (BOMDO) - (SG-28)

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation
ELIGIBILITY: Registered Master Mariner
EXPERIENCE: 1)  With at least one (1) year command of sea-going ship of 3,000 gross tons or more within the last five (5) years;
2)  Qualified and Certificated Assessors;
3)  Certificated on tankers;
4)  Have prior experience as educator/trainer in an MHEI or MTI for at least two (2) years on STCW related course(s);
5)  Prior approval as assessor of competence with the use of simulators; and
6)  Well-recognized in the industry for integrity and professionalism.
TRAINING: IMO Model Course 6.09, 3.12 and 6.10, ATOT, ATCT and ATLGT
